The right to privacy is a basic human right entrenched in the South African Constitution. The importance of the right to privacy is further entrenched with the enactment of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

POPIA is a comprehensive set of data protection legislation enacted in South Africa. POPIA aims to give effect to the constitutional right to privacy, whilst balancing this against competing rights and interests. POPIA further seeks to regulate every step of the processing of personal information from how personal information must be handled when it is collected until the time it is destroyed.

Given the importance of privacy, ALIWAL DIVE is fully committed to protecting your privacy to ensure that your personal information is collected and processed properly, lawfully, and transparently.

Cancellation / refunds policy

50% deposit is required to confirm a booking. Balance of payment is then due 15 days before arrival. Cancellation made within 21 days of arrival date, forfeit deposit payment. Cancellations made within 21 days of arrival date on fully paid bookings, deposit forfeit and 25% refund paid on balance payment.

Due to the logistics of running a successful dive centre, we require 48 hour notice should you need to cancel your dive with us. Dives cancelled on the day due to being cold, seasick or hungover will still be charged for as we may have been able to book other divers on the boat. Refunds/credits will only be given if we cancel the launch due to weather or reasons using our own discretion. Thanks for understanding.

No refunds on package specials.

Please note every diver needs a permit to dive on aliwal shoal (being a marine protected area). Permits are available from any post office. The original will be kept on the boat for the duration of your dive.

When doing an eft into our account as payment for your accommodation/diving please remember to send us a copy via either e-mail or fax. If this is not received please note that your booking cannot be confirmed. Please do not rely on your bank to do this. All bank charges will be for your account.

A 50% deposit payable to Aliwal Dive Centre upon booking. This deposit is payable per person and is non-refundable as well as non-transferable. The outstanding balance is to be settled 15 days prior to the start of the trip in order to secure your booking. Any additional expenses are to be settled prior to guests’ departure. No credits will be given for cancellations beyond our control.

NOTE: No refunds on accommodation. Dives cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable. Dives cancelled by us credits will only be given.
